Pretty much went through the same. We both wanted a boy; she ended up having a girl. Any disappointment I had went away when I seen her for the first time. That’s my baby girl, my spitting image. She’s got me wrapped around her finger. She’s a blessing, and I wouldn’t change a thing.
Still want a boy, and for a lot of the reasons you name. Got the name picked out already, lol. We’ll try again at some point. 3 kids is the most id want, so I still got 2 more tries lol

It all depends on your wife's lineage. If she has a lot of male siblings, the (much)higher probability of having a boy. Your wife came from a family tree where many males don't be born.

I only have a daughter and honestly really is the best for a dad. My girl is a huge daddy's girl. to the point where she'll come in our room in the morning and say good morning to me and not my wife lol I had to get on her about being rude.
All of my boys who had kids had girls. One homie who just had kid #3 like 7 years after the first 2 finally made a boy lol

You may be a bit disappointed now, but once you see her you will love her immensely. Girls have their own special sort of relationship with their fathers, so make sure you are a good father to her. Also, you can talk all of that stuff about sports to your daughter that you would to a son. She may not play football, but she can definitely learn to enjoy watching it with her dad.
You will find that you can bind with your daughter over a lot of things that are your hobbies. Just expose her to them and see which ones she may find interesting.

That's true.. everyone knew I wanted a boy so when it was pink people did say I can do all the same things with a girl I can do with a boy.
Always gonna love my child, but I guess this was the first lesson in "don't get your hopes up" for a specific thing with your child.
