My guess would be because republicans aren't the only ones benefitting off insider information. So if an AOC, Bernie, Liz type were to come public tons of mudslinging would go on and the democratic party would be damaged as well. I know Pelosi's husband has huge holdings and there's been talk about whether or not she and her husband sold positions right before the crash.
