Remarkable to cancel on a chairman of a Senate committee who was at the WH for a scheduled meeting when Trump didn’t have anything on his schedule til an evening Christmas party. Seems Corker’s criticism of late - over Saudi Arabia and now Syria - got under Trump’s skin

The Mueller investigation is pretty much at his mercy, but with outside eyes looking in, he doesn't seem to have hampered the investigation. He probably won't take any actions to impede it now that he has first hand knowledge on what they on Trump and others involved in the investigation.

Paul Ryan says Trump “won’t sign this bill,” referring to a Senate-passed stop-gap spending bill to avoid a shutdown by Feb. 8. Shutdown now appears far more likely. Trump had signaled to Hill earlier he would sign it.

Sen @RonJohnsonWI says that in the GOP lunch just now (where only a fraction of Senators were in attendance because most are already gone) they read a tweet aloud that Trump won’t sign the CR, and McConnell left to go speak to @SpeakerRyan.
