The military does not belong to a political party, nor should it even seem like it has a political leaning. It's for the security and protection of the country. The military, officially, putting on those MAGA hats make them look like a biased, personal military unit.

It's just a rule the pentagon sets. Get who's in charge of the Pentagon? The president.

If you don't want a partisan military, don't nominate someone like Trump. There are more important things to be upset over, but this should serve as another example that many of the Americans norms that people hold near and dear are not automatic.
