Trump first asked for options to kill Suleimani in 2017 but his national security team didn’t provide them. Things have changed. Killing of Soleimani reflects an national security team not inclined to curb Trump. To be fair, he hasn't really proposed enough policies for these types of things to happen. When Trump got elected I honestly expected this shyt to happen a lot more. I thought he'd be constantly warring against various party members and by the time impeachment came about half of them would hate his guts enough to do it. The only thing that's really surprised me about his presidency is how few of these fights there's been and how 98% of Republican legislators are willing to bend over backwards to kiss his ass in public when they clearly despise him and think he's an incompetent fool.
