The attempt at 4 dimension chess gave power to a man 10x worse than Hillary. Plain and simple.

This is 4 dimension chess to you? You gotta be slow or some shyt.

The US government has massive, endemic problems that persist whether the Republicans or Democrats are in power. Both parties are ultimately controlled by their wealthy financial backers and neither one is seriously interested in fixing any of the major issues in the country.

Understanding that isn't "4 dimension chess", it's practically checkers.

* Neither party is going to seriously address poverty if it comes at the expense of their wealthy core in any way

* Neither party is going to seriously address the issues in the justice system as long as those affected are primarily Black, Brown, and poor Whites

* Neither party is going to seriously address war as long as there is profit to be made in war

* Neither party is going to seriously address environmental issues so long as their patrons are profiting off of destroying the environment

* Neither party is going to seriously address massive issues in the banking and monetary system as long as they are funded by Wall Street

NONE of that is even remotely controversial. And yes, Donald Trump is the worst president in my lifetime. But the difference between him and Hillary is just the difference in the speed that the country and the planet goes downhill. If you keep rooting for the country to go downhill slower, because the other guy is a "greater evil", then what the hell is your endgame?

And stop this bullshyt about us somehow being responsible. I had the most popular, lasting anti-Trump thread of the entire campaign. I spoke out against Trump often and with strength. Trump got voted in anyway because there were too many Rust Belt voters who hate their lives, hate Hillary too, and wanted something different but are too stupid to know what's good for them.

You want to talk about costing elections, look at your own damn Democrats and ask them what happens when they force the nomination of the most hated candidate in the party's recent history over one of the most popular candidates in the party's recent history. THAT is what cost them the election, and it was a purely self-inflicted wound.

We can’t be going backwards if we were never going forwards. Obama made meaningful changes in criminal justice reform and the environmental. If we got the presidency we would have the scotus picks and judiciary picks to create an even more positive environment socially in this country. It’s like you’re afraid to “win”.

He barely nipped around the edges, while also setting the stage for executive overreach which made the ability for Trump to abuse the system that much easier.

And you talk of an "even more positive environment socially" as if things were just getting better and better until Trump showed up. :dead:

It hasn't been my experience that tiny, slow, incremental change is the only type of change, nor that governments are the only (or even primary) vehicles we can trust in to make change, nor that incremental changes are meaningful when they proceed far slower than the damage from the ongoing problems.

You're failing to deal with the fundamental issue that the wealthiest interests control both the Democratic party and the Republican party, and their primary interest will be to look out for their own, indefinitely.

I gonna apologize for that "you gotta be slow" comment though. I've been way overtalking on this forum for a minute now and should be toning it down, even if it all meant in jest.

We live in a democracy. A lot of change will be incremental which is why you saw Bannon energizing their base for a long sustained run in power.

The Education Department has told BuzzFeed it won't investigate or take action on any complaints filed by transgender students who are banned from restrooms that match their gender identity.

This is a new low in the Trump administration's year-long broadside against LGBT rights.

President Trump’s new budget proposal would hand control of the independent Consumer Financial Protection Bureau to the GOP-led Congress, giving lawmakers the power to make drastic changes to the agency just months after Trump installed Mick Mulvaney, who previously tried to eliminate the agency, as its acting director.
