Dumbass is going to fire John Kelly when John Kelly is a potential witness to Mueller's obstruction of justice case. He has a lot of insight into Trump's spaz out moments, executive actions and conversations about wanting to stop the investigation. Firing him will only give Kelly the freedom to talk.

Kelly is a fukking, super conservative, military issued, coward. He will remain loyal to Trump, even after he is humiliated and dragged, because Kelly is not a human being anymore, he is not capable of empathy, he has no more sense of pride, or he would have resigned long ago. He believes these right wing, neocon policies and border security are part of MAGA, and his warped sense of patriotism would have him believe that DJT is a vessel to secure a more military based/right wing future.
The silliest part of all of this, is that the voters that got Trump over in the electoral college aren’t neocon, super conservative, right wingers. They are the fukking idiots that voted for Trump because of their niche views, like racism, sexism, reminds me of grandpa, drain the swamp, audit the fed, outsider, muhh guns, etc. the loudest sycophants are the ultra right wing douchebags. Kelly is just an old, beaten horse, his best days were behind him decades ago. He is just an old racist dikkhead, that hates brown people, that so happened found himself running the country.
