@clairecmc
The Republican Party has done a 180. Used to be “we want the federal government out of our lives”. Now? They are putting the federal government in our universities, corporate board rooms, libraries, museums, and local police departments, just to name a few.
2/37
@BoomerHitsDiff
Truth Claire.
3/37
@2aHistory
Weren't you relevant at one time?
Oh wait.
No. You weren't.
Carry on.
4/37
@PressFreedoms
Those are state institutions.
They shouldn't be federally funded.
5/37
@flyoverland
The GOP: making the federal government work did the people … finally
6/37
@rivercitywoman
From the B that changed the emancipation age in Missouri affecting thousands and thousands of divorced families! Sit down, Claire !
7/37
@davidgaw
Yes. Now both parties are useless.
8/37
@txrsasser
It's funny that there are people who still think there are two parties.
9/37
@ToddHeadleeAZ
Talk about a 189…It’s a gift from God that Missouri elected Senator @HawleyMO and sent you packing
10/37
@coninutah
Stop taxing everything I do, then we'll talk.
11/37
@jstucks7
Incorrect. The conservative belief is rooted in federalism: that the federal government has a limited role and jurisdiction and that it should stick to those defined limits. The federal government has existing jurisdiction over federally funded universities, violations of federal law, federally funded museums, and D.C. To actually do their job in these established areas (areas of control advocated for by Democrats in many cases until Trump decided to also use that power), is fully legitimate.
12/37
@SteveRipjaw
You will be arrested shortly. Please standby.
13/37
@realAAAbbott
Conservatives thought they could live in peace with the left but they now know better.
You are mad and scared that they are now willing to use power. Its understandable.
14/37
@comicaldavid
Isn't pro wrestling exciting!?
We never know how the script writers will betray us next.
But anyone who has lived a minute knows...they (both sides) are just for show.
15/37
@hulda03
It’s about time for pushback against all of the Democrat tactics. The insidious creep of Communism into all these aspects American life must come to an end. People who allow Democrats and Legacy Media to manipulate and coerce them are either naive and gullible or they are complicit with evil.
16/37
@minnesportsman1
They're everywhere taking over.
17/37
@AmBrushfire
And normally your side supports maximum Federal power, so shouldn’t you be thrilled? You scream “democracy, demcoracy” all the time… well this is democracy.
18/37
@F3Money
Yes. Reap what you sow
19/37
@leftcoastbabe
At the same time they cut federal funding for food, disaster relief, public broadcasting etc...
20/37
@TruthingtonPost
It’s only a temporary measure while we drive the Communists out of our institutions.
21/37
@911Pedi
Nailed it!
22/37
@lone_rides
The Democrats have never wanted the government out of people’s lives. Live by your rules
23/37
@Defeatdictators
You are correct. I don't recognize the GOP anymore. They changed dramatically. It's now a far right party that seems to embrace strong centralized government control, the opposite of limited government.
24/37
@PITFA92
Stick to grandmothering.
25/37
@brian_mistrot
And people wonder why I keep saying, “The Republican Party left me, not the other way around.”
26/37
@ctdonath
“They are putting the federal government in our …”
No, the federal government is enforcing law that Democrats thought y’all were above.
By law, y’all may not discriminate against whites, men, Christians, straights.
Criminals should be prosecuted, not freed.
Sit, traitor.
27/37
@BigBenInLondon
And on the streets in LA and DC so far
28/37
@TheRogue_Elf
Wait you're going to pretend Democrats haven't already done this and set precedent?
I still don't see where any of that is putting Government in my personal life.
Do you even read your own posts before sending?
Try again.
29/37
@Noodles_Now
The Republicans learned "the joy of seizing control of everything" from the Democrats.
And now those institutions will need to reflect the ideals that put the current administration in power.
I expect a 95% employee turn-over will be required in all of those institutions.
30/37
@asglidden
No, you put the federal government there. These are just the natural consequences of your choice.
31/37
@RamonesKafir
We warned you and warned you that you wouldn't like how your own standards and practices might easily be applied against you, some day.
One way or another, both sides are going to end up playing by the exact same set of rules.
32/37
@McguireMarla
Yes. Our tax dollars paying for fascism.
33/37
@deanna_hodson
With good reason!
34/37
@END_JRN
INDEED.
35/37
@brownmp
We tried "just leave me alone."
Your reply was "you may not care about X, but X cares about you."
So now I care. I care enough to make you care. Maybe we can get back to mutual "leave me alone."
36/37
@_ThePr0letariat
The Republican Party does not exist anymore
37/37
@Lisahauge222
Mandatory diversity statements, race-driven exclusionary hiring, compulsory "pronouns" and dishonest "1619 style" neo-Marxist rewrites . . .
I suppose we just hallucinated all that?
And here's the poison fruit:
[Quoted tweet]
A study of 1452 undergrads at Northwestern and Michigan between 2023 and 2025 found that 88% pretended to hold more left wing views than they actually had in order to succeed socially or academically.
