The only way out of this mess is a blue tidal wave, then a Democratic speaker of the house and then removal of Trump and Vance. Whoever becomes speaker should be able to hold it together until the 28 elections and hopefully that could fix most of long term damage.

at this point, with a Dem House restraining and checking him, i think it's actually better that trump stick around and just act as a punching bag through the '28 election
he's an absolute turnout machine for Democrats. they can spend all of 2027 exposing his disgusting corruption. and he's so fat, old, and weak, that Vance is gonna have to run on propping him up just like kamala did. and we saw how that turned out for her
President Vance would have a 100% united GOP behind him, energized around a new Millenial president. getting sworn in legitimizes him greatly. that's a much tougher opponent than inexperienced VP Vance, who just went through a bruising/divisive primary, and has to spend the '28 election fellating his horribly unpopular boss

I don’t know. Judging by the right’s infighting and the recent elections, it feels more like 2006.
Everything Trump has done since he was elected has hurt his base and everybody else. His base got the cruel immigration policies they wanted, but I don’t think their dumbasses understood the impact tariffs would have on their lives.
Hell, atleast Hitler created an artificial economic recovery that had the Germans feeling better about their situation in 1938, they did in 1933.
The one thing aspiring fascists should do is atleast make sure the trains run on time. Trump can’t even do that.
