I just want to say this as an aside.

Not sure why the public is trying to give Cheryl hines the benefit of the doubt?

She clearly has the same beliefs he does.

That is all.

I don't know if she has the same beliefs, but I do know she isn't in charge of public health and she doesn't hold press conferences.

In principle you're right but I doubt it would swing the pendulum politically :yeshrug: disdain for said said groups is what made Trump popular in the first place
You’ve become awful defeatist my friend. Yes, racism is the point. And racism was outvoted in both of Trump’s first two campaigns for the White House.

If U.S. voters are so racist how the fukk did Obama stream roll his way to two terms? You all are delusional if you’re boiling our circumstances today solely down to that. Now republicans have completely flipped the script with the younger generation who literally view right and left from a lens of masculinity.

Maybe because after 8 years of Bush's wars and rescission, voters went the other way. It also didn't hurt that Obama was 30 years younger than McCain and Sarah Palin was an idiot.

Racism from the Obama years led to Trump, and hopefully after Trump is gone, we can get a more sustained leftward shift

Basically. Trump was their Obama. They wasn’t energized to vote for milquetoast racists like McCain or Romney. They needed something to make them get out their chair. Something to make them proud to be -ist and -phobic again.

Additionally bush pissed off a bunch of anti war people including Muslims, Muslims went from supporting republicans slightly to overwhelmingly supporting democrats. Racism was alive and well during the Obama years, especially during the tea party birthright movement which Trump pushed.

Obama is what energized the racists. He woke them up and made them realize they had to fight for their country going forward.

Trump literally and specifically ran on racism and bigotry. Those were his most successful and topics by far.

It may be hard to admit. But racism and bigotry are conservatives most popular positions in 2025 :manny:

Let’s not forget that hurricane Katrina showed Bush to be the incompetent leader Dems accused him of being.

Obama still had a tough race but Republicans had little to be energized about except racism that McCain wasn’t trying to allow.

They’ve completely dropped any and every religious pretext for their behavior.

Everything you’re saying is true and I agree. But the republicans have had an entire news channel (the most popular one in America) as their propaganda arm. We need the same thing but bigger if that’s the plan. And unfortunately that means we will need a couple of billionaires willing to invest in it.
sure

But making it the issue and pointing to it constantly is going to bring attention to the base.

Dems have to stop caring about the GOP gaze and getting cable news coverage–which don’t matter tbh–and start electrifying the base. A consistent message attacking the billionaires is that.

Then advocating for policies that attack them is the next step.

Finally, talk within real peoples experiences.
