See folks saying Trump is tanking the economy for Oligarchs. In a way he is, but it may be even more simple than that. He needs revenue to continue his tax cuts.

That could be the reason he is doing the craziness.

The economy is not that simple to be honest. It's a well inter connected ecosystem that needs balancing. Sure the tarrifs bring more revenue to the government. Ultimately the government needs to use that revenue for its people and not squander it. Since the Republicans are generally against government control and spending then why are you collecting revenues unless you plan to squander them for another useless war or something completely useless to most citizens.

Inflation will increase and as a result people will demand higher wages. This destabilizes the supply chain and manufacturing as you're in a never ending cycle of high prices and high wage demand. This leads to government having to raise interest rates in hopes of slowing inflation and leads the country into a recession where your population stops spending altogether. Surely if Elon was actually smart he would think about this as his mass produced US product will not be bought.
