I assume more than Clinton is in the files, probably big dem establishment donors too. I've came to understand when Democrats dont do something thats political beneficial its due to donors

Oh no doubt. Think it's still probably worth it if it gets Trump out of the paint or it looks like something he's vulnerable on. That being said Trump has seemed pretty impervious to most of things he's looked vulnerable on thus far.
