This is where I fundamentally disagree. We’ve run three status‑quo candidates and barely eked out a win with one of them.

i was trying to think who the "left's Trump" would be, and it's probably Mark Cuban, tbh

he can run on the same bullshyt about being "muh a rich successful businessman" that wins over the typical unimpressive, low-achieving American. except he's actually doing things like that cheap drug website to try to help people out. and he's got pretty much the same acting chops/stage presence as Trump, plus the name recognition and national platform

With income inequality and the debt exploding since 1980, it’s not surprising that the voting electorate isn’t convinced by politicians who want to govern like it’s 1995. I don’t believe any of the three we’ve run in the past decade are quality politicians, so it’s not surprising Trump has won over low information voters who want change.
