Genesis unveils its entry level G70...these other luxury brands gotta be shook

Genesis, Hyundai Motor Co.'s fledgling luxury brand, is vowing to challenge more established German rivals with the G70, its first compact sport sedan, that will offer optional 3.3-liter V-6 turbocharged performance.

The G70's V-6 turbo will sell alongside a base 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo, while some markets will also get a 2.2-liter diesel variant.







No pricing yet, but I’m expecting it to be priced near/under the Infiniti Q50. Looks better than everything in its class too (Mercedes C class, BMW 3 series, Infiniti Q50 and Audi A4)

The front looks like the Toyota 86 (front bumper, lights), Audi (grill) and a Infiniti (little bit of grill, hood lines and shape) had a baby. The rear looks Mercedes. But the tail lights are a cross between the BMW 2 series and Mercedes coupe tail lights.

The interior is straight Mercedes but what are the chances that the stitching on the dash and seats are actually hand stitched? I'd say 0%.

This shyt cool but online nikkas really thinking about copping this car. I've saw a few Genesis out irl pushed mainly by old cats. People that are our age ain't copping this over any of the other cars mentioned in no amount to make a dent in anything. This car going the way of the K900 where it's a nice car imo but nobody really going to cop because of prestige this doesn't currently have.

i see dudes in their late 20's early 30's pushin the genesis around my way. A couple of women as well. Its a nice whip but not enough for me to switch from Lexus

I don't doubt you see some younger cats pushing it. I've saw a few myself but has mainly been older cats. I also think most cats our age getting the more established names whether it is a Lexus, Benz, Infiniti, Audi, BMW, etc.

v6 wit turbos are very common. they push out plenty of power. the new infiniti coupe has a v6 twin turbo. lexus strapped a turbo on some of their cars as well

V8’s are optional on the bigger G80. They’re just getting their footing w the new brand. Once they’re established, theylll probably have a performance model that’ll either have a v8 or big turbo v6 w 400-500hp

Looks like a good car, but I'm not crazy about the center console. I'd still roll with the C class personally if I had to pick one.

I'm still thinkin the q50 has the best price/features/engine combo. Plus it's legit awd.
