Can any nigerians confirm or deny if the igbos are mixed race. I keep seeing their pics pop up ion the african forums and some of them look light as fuc. I checked out wiki and most igbos scored 100 percent SSA on dnatribe. Some even have green eyes and shyt.

There's no genetic evidence to suggest that Igbo people are mixed race. Nigeria is quite diverse. What's more likely is that some of the Igbo may have culturally selected for a lighter skin tone.

No and most Black American ancestry comes from Igbos.

Most? Any evidence that's the case?

that's just the 2% hydroquinone skin treatment...Blacks are blacks except for the Bushmen...All other "lightskin" blacks are mixed genetically...

Ethiopians, Eritreans, Somalis, Northern Africans and etc are MIXED GENETICALLY...

At one point, the vast majority of people in Africa were "dark skin"...Just like in Australia...

Unless you have a time machine, it sounds like you're making it up. It's highly unlikely that all Black Africans were the same shade of dark. Further, the facts of the ground don't support that idea.

Nah, a decent number of them are light skinned, like 15-20%. It's especially significant considering the number of light-skinned igbos compared to lightskined Yoruba or Hausa people. If you meet a light skin person in Nigeria, there is very good chance that they're Igbo or at least from Edo or Calabar type joints which are relatively close to Igbo land.

True. Although, aren't Calabar people Igbos too?

False

My family is not mix and my siblings are lighter than the people posted while I'm as dark as midnight. I grew up in Africa and skin tone ranges dark to light in black people naturally as hair color does for whites.

(1) How do you know your family is not mixed...?

(2) Post pictures of your siblings so we can see and judge for ourselves...

Every Igbo person (a few) I share with..you can share your DNA profiles..on DNA sites is 100% African and of a similar make up as other Nigerians. Even the mixed ones with white moms and African dads end up 50% African 50% European.

no they are not, i don't know why the myth persists that all Africans are dark skinned......
Us watching feed the children commercials and naturally assuming all africans are dark and starving. plus people get so caught up on the word "black" and think black people actually have to be the colour black to be black. western ignorance.
This thread is about Africans...Of course we are all genetically intertwined, but the OP was specific to a subset of humans...He wasn't talking about humans in general...

Hence, my post was restricted to the people we are discussing...:yeshrug:

I grew up in Africa...The majority of people are either :scust: to :umad:...Cam'ron's complexion is as "light" as an African gets...

If you see an African who looks like this :dwillhuh:...You best believe there has been a recent non-African genetic infusion in his family....

Before Whites, Arabs, and other pale skin people came to Africa, you best believe there were ZERO Beyonce looking chicks walking around...

Even Arabs are clear mix of dark skin and light skin people...

Probably the entire continent of Africa, The Middle East and half of Asia was probably nothing but Darkies at some point...

Africans are not the only dark skin people in the world...
There were lightskin africans before white people came to the continent. explain the khoisan tribe

Very true I'm Edo and some can tend to be light, which has nothing to do with being mix. I have also seen light yorubas too who have siblings who are darker than them, so they aren't mixed. It's just that some people can't fathom that africans can very in looks. They believe so much in the stereotypical African that it blinds them

(1) I was born and raised in Africa...My statements are based on personal experience...

(2) "Black" people are various shades of brown...There are some Sri Lankans who are even darker Sudanese...But for some reason, we don't call those Sri Lankans "blacks"...

(2) I have already mentioned the Khoi San...

when we use the term "black" we're refering to everyone of sub saharan ancestry. not just skin colour.

The berbers are people in and of themselves. The East Africans are not necessarily mixed. Depends on the region. Just because some cac says otherwise doesn't make it true. And the vast majority of Africans are dark-skinned.

The bushmen are just a different form of black.

Dumbest shyt I read on the coli in a long time. All Africans have to be jet black? Africa is not a homogeneous continent, hard to comprehend when so many fools see themselves through the eyes of white people. Dont insult my identity, dumbfukk, Igbos range from dark-light, you do know many africans have albino children especially in Nigeria.
