Was there ever any outrage whatsoever about light-skinned ass Will Smith playing dark-skinned ass Richard Williams?

I'm just asking because I just got in an argument with this Shea Butter ass chick over Zoe Saldana playing Nina Simone because she was lighter-skinned, but I don't remember seeing any outrage over Will Smith playing a man with such obvious "African" features like Richard Williams.

Also, do you think would it be tolerable if light-skinned actresses played Serena or Venus Williams?

Or would the world collectively lose it's shyt?

Help a brother win an argument

She isn't even black is she? And when has an actor ever put black makeup and a broad nose on to play a role?

She's obviously Afro-Latino.

She's not White and this is America. she's Black here.

You other motherfukkers opinions don't matter here.

She Black here and the issue was that she was light-skinned playing a dark-skinned woman with "African" features.

And lots of actors of all races use prosthetics to play historic figures.

It’s not consistent, but context matters.
Darker skinned Black actresses are routinely passed over for lighter skinned/biracial actresses. It’s not really a 1:1 comparison.
This is what I typed out and edited with a '.' because if people can't understand such simple concepts no point us explaining it to them

We gonna pretend that Hollywood didn't pass over dark-skinned men for years for roles except for as criminals, athletes, & comic reliefs. :comeon:

That's why if you remember when Charlie Murphy did his C! True Hollywood Stories on Rick James he was talking about how there wasn't any dark-skinned actors in Hollywood that's why he called him & his brother "Darkness"

The backlash about King Richard was that the movie was about a Black MAN and not the Williams sisters...even though they were executive producers of the film. :mjlol:

This right here!!!!

this is what I was tellin' this broad.

They don't give a fukk about Black men suffering from colorism or any of that shyt.

They was more than happy to clown Flava Flav or any of them:aicmon:
