first time I heard this joint was on Stretch and Bobbito’s college radio show like 2 o’clock in the morning on a weekday
that next day and throughout the weeks ahead - nikkaz new something incredible was about to pop off

:mjcry:GOAT era
Wu was gettin play on college radio. :wow:

Similar to how when grunge was first getting played on college radio, and everyone who first heard “Smells Like Teen Spirit” just knew there was a “changing of the guard” coming that year in 1991/1992. :wow:

We will never have this feeling again

This was brand new and something no one had ever seen before. A completely unknown group with a ton of nikkas, all of the them could rap, and doing it over a production style no one would have thought possible

There’s a reason why it blew up and crossed over on the spot. Wu Tang’s first joint had both the streets and the colleges on lock and they did it without selling out or even exaggerating themselves an inch
