The actions scenes weren't better, there were just more of them, and most of them were basically cartoon status- completely cgi, and so no different from a bigger-budget videogame cutscene. Only a couple of them were well-set up and engaging. These are all trends that are ruining modern action movies as well, and they'll contribute to the implosion described in the article. Unfortunately, you seem to be drinking the Kool-Aid and so unable to see what's coming.
Well thats your opinion and thankfully America disagreed with you with their wallets this weekend. :cape:

People go to see superman films to see superman do ill things so obviously, the more action the better. There are many films with a lot of action that are trash. This film put a unique spin on what its like when powerful aliens fight each other in a city. That sort of battle has never been depicted on the silver screen before, and the fans Loved it. Critics like you, did not.

I dont see these as trends that ruin action films because in hollywood there are a variety of types of action films. Right now, America loves the comic book films. Everything moves in cycles and maybe this just isnt the era for you, friend. Everything in hollywood is about bankability and films like Superman will always bank. Its a lot riskier for concepts and stories that arent bankable like John Carter, to take off. Hollywood should be careful or just make cheaper films, then release guaranteed wins like superman when they feel like it.

only got greenlit cause of the connections to alien :manny:

I see. Well i guess you've resigned to the fact that you will see nothing but rehashes for the rest of your life. Maybe you should start playing video games. These days the stories are better than films, and more interactive. Pick up that PS4 this holiday season, you'll get all the story you could ever want, friend. :gladbron:

The all CGI movies are going to be the wave I think for those big budget action flicks. No expensive locals to shoot at, no big expensive sets, or towns to build. Lucas Arts is on the right path. He says the next Star Wars will be Live action, but I say why when you can do even better than these with a dedicated staff for an actual movie. These are just for games.

I'd pay 25 bones to watch a flick if it meant impeccable seating and no rug rats because their parents can't afford it

Fuccit serve me beer and I'll pay more
