The rest of the Legion of Boom covered for Sherman. Not following the opposing teams #1 WR nearly as often are true elite CB’s do. He’ll say it was scheme, but he was never on the level of some of the other elite CB’s we’ve seen over the last twenty years.
20 years goes back to 2005. There haven't been 5 CBs greater than Sherman in the last 20 years. He's unquestionably one of the greatest players at his position across multiple eras.

Everybody has a scheme, everybody has a system. You either excel in your system or you don't....the list is short for guys who were better than Sherman since '05, you can count em on one hand.

Sherman was better at his position, in his era, than Pickens has been at his position, in his era.

I can name five if we’re talking peak for peak and prime for prime. Not talking overall career or accomplishments, but strictly just on the field play.

Edit: I’ve just never been a big fan of Sherman. I think it’s easy to talk when you have an elite team around you.

I should have said going back to 2000 as that would be ten times easier for me to name five players.
