A LOT of things can go medically wrong when you involve anesthesia. Surgery rooms have to be packed full of people monitoring the patient’s life functions, like the circulatory system, temperature regulation, and respiratory system).

The anesthesia affects how much blood/oxygen reach the brain and spinal cord, even if no serious bleeding happens. All it takes is something essential not getting enough oxygen for enough time and the function attached to that essential part is now dead. It dramatically slows down your heart rate, breathing, and lowers your core temp.
