my og 60gig ps3 i bought nearly 7 years ago IS STILL WORKING PERFECTLY, JUST LIKE THE DAY I BOUGHT IT, i went through 3 xbox 360s in that time frame. And I paid 670 for it no games, no exta controllers and well money well spent, once i get my ps4 i will hand this down like a old japanese car maintained that will still run another 10 years to a less fortunate kid

man, my old lady copped that shyt at launch when they were scarce. and it's in my basement now. shyt YLOD on me, and I got it fixed. happened again like a couple months later, and I copped a slim instead. I'm rockin a slim. my daughter got a slim.
since PS4 doesn't have backwards compatibility, I'll still keep my PS3. otherwise, I'd throw it in my front room for netflix purposes.
I like what the Wii U is bringing in terms of games, which is pretty much what Nintendo brings to all of their consoles... That new Mario Kart looks a lot of fun. I'll wait for it to get cheap. Wii U has the perfect supplement to all the 'mature' and dark games that are coming out for the next gen of consoles.
Just off my recent experiences . My Mgs 80gig crapped out once sony fixed it. still running. the wii still running. I gave my cousins In DR my OG ps2, my slim PS2, and my god of war PSP all 3 still Running
I have had 7 diff xbox 360's this gen. threw it in the bushes last year after the last crap out( thank god for extended warranties from my credit card)
Ps4,PC, and even wii-u (I got kids
) will get purchased for next gen gaming.

Maybe a few years down the line. If it proves to be durable hardware, with an acceptable failure rate, if it has good exclusive games that don't come out on PC 3 months later

Yea Im def copping a PS4 next gen. I got a 360 cause of the headstart and don't game on consoles heavy enough to justify having both. But now with no head start xbox gets the bushes. MS can keep their entertainment console all I care about are games
