Two men are facing real charges after staging a fake fight outside of a club Thursday night in Plattsburgh.
In a media release, Plattsburgh Police Chief Desmond Racicot said the department received several calls concerning an altercation involving two men. Racicor said according to witnesses, one man was fleeing the area as the second man chased him, brandishing a handgun.
Racicot says officers located the men, identified as Timothy Taylor, 25, and Brandon Snell, 23, both of Plattsburgh, and took them into custody. Further investigation found the men were attempting to record a spoof for YouTube.
A search of the Brinkerhoff and Oak streets area turned up an Airsoft handgun.
Taylor is charged with criminal possession of a weapon, criminal nuisance and conspiracy. He was held pending arraignment.
Snell was charged with criminal nuisance and conspiracy. He was released on an appearance ticket.
