Mom seriously injured taking out her trash when she was struck by driver who fell asleep
SAN ANTONIO - A single mother was seriously injured taking her trash out when she was struck by a driver who fell asleep at the wheel, ran her car up on the curb and hit her.
She was diagnosed with two skull fractures, three subdural hematomas, a dissection of her internal carotid artery and a complete rupture of all of the ligaments of her right knee.
As luck would have it, the driver of the vehicle that hit her had the minimum insurance required, and absolutely no assets to speak of, which means that even though the accident was 100% somebody else's fault, all of the medical debt for Shelby's hospitalization, as well as future surgeries is Shelby's burden to bear.
