There's people that are actually innocent that have been locked up for decades waiting to be free or hoping that someone hears their story but haven't gotten lucky enough yet. Save your sympathy for them. Not him. Obviously dude isn't right in the head to be doing that shyt BUT dude acting like he ain't know what could have happen if the law caught him. I have sympathy for certain situations. As a father and a homeowner i have zero sympathy for armed robbers and home invasions. Someone breaks into my house with a gun, they not making it trial. 
This is precisely the kind of person we want to remove from society for 43 years. You don't have sense to stop robbing at gunpoint and pulling home invasions WHILE ON PAROLE WIHT AN ANKLE MONITOR you need to go away for a long time
