People need to run risk/reward assessments - is it worth hurting and potentially opening yourself up to civil/criminal charges over someone shoplifting from a corporation that doesn't give a fukk about you and would toss you to the bushes the moment the aforementioned charges happen?

The people who get annoying and uppity about other folks literally doing their job. Nothing made me roll my eyes harder than working a retail job as a teenager and having some bird brain say “You really care about this lil job.”

If I ask for a specific amount of sauces beyond what you’re ordered to give out, it’s cool, I’ll pay for them. I’m not going to argue or get angry because it added a couple of dollars to my bill. So the awkward “those are extra” energy that some people give is annoying as fukk.

There’s a seafood spot I go to every other month and until my last visit, I’d have to ask for more cocktail or tartar sauce more than once because the wait staff seemed afraid to tell me it costs extra. So the last time after I asked, I said I know it’s extra. I’m already spending $200 on this meal, so why would a few more dollars even bother me?

I’m not sure what you’re dealing with, but I pray it gets better for you.

I don’t think anything. Just like when I look at the surface of Venus and see clouds I don’t suddenly assume an advanced civilization exists there. Similarly, because someone is shoplifting I don’t assume they do more than that.
