yeah you have to train thisYou're absolutely correct, that heat and panic is NO JOKE and when I experienced that I would either, A- wild out and try to escape only to make everything worse or B- just tap out. Soke was confused but then quickly realized that I was claustrophobic (I didn't even know until I tried BJJ) and told me that it's normal, but that's not something I was ready to man up to because being on your back tired, hot, and painfully smothered by someone who knows what their doing is the REALEST physical thing I've been through. I trying to overcome claustrophobia, the Achilles heel of my manhood. Good looking out.
I enjoy undoing all there hard work and sweeping/submitting them.Yea, you got alot of pride. Probably because of your size. Thats a journey you just have to work out on your own, but the best way to overcome it is to start out in inferior position and work your way out. Work 2 escapes that you know are money and eventually it will click but i cant stress enough that you have to humble yourself and take those L's. What happens is you get a victory, in escape, your opponent adjusts and now you have another piece of the puzzle that you have to add. Overtime, you get a big picture of adjustments that you and your opponent will make in the game and your escapes will be more high percentage because you will have a string of adjustments that will help you escape, or the timing necessary to do one easy escapeYou're absolutely correct, that heat and panic is NO JOKE and when I experienced that I would either, A- wild out and try to escape only to make everything worse or B- just tap out. My favorite phrase for Jiujitsu is you're only as good as your last tap. When you get good enough to be the one crushing people and escaping positions, people will Pray for those days when you were inexperienced and people will start avoiding you on the mat. I use the mat at a place to face some fears of pride. I go against the dude who has me shook. There are people i can Beat, that i dont even wanna spar with sometimes because i see them on the rise. I know if i dont keep training, they will catch me and people will think the same things about you. If you train 3 - 5 days a week, the results are faster, shyt gets in your DNA. The best players, work their weaknesses and drill their weaknesses out of them, then move on to other weaknesses.
A tip for side control and a reason a lot of people get tired is the head and arm control. if i was sparring a big guy like you, id get the head and arm control, jam my shoulders into your face and turn you away like, dont look at me and proceed to hold the head and arm while i slide my knee over your sternum. This breaks spirits. You can see the opponents life meter draining like street fighter when you put that kind of pressure on them.
- the best thinng you can do in a situation like that, is to get the control off of your head. This is one escape i do with cats that stall with tight control .
I could literally talk about side control for pages and pages as far as if he does this i do this if he does this i do this based on size, athleticism or my current fatigue levels. Theres a lot to learn which is why i love this art. The physics of the human body is an endless journey.
Guys like you that train often and eventually lose fatigue and fear, are people i have to force myself to spar with. Its an ordeal.
yeah you have to train this
i always start rolls from bottom half guard and even let people mount me because fukk it.I enjoy undoing all there hard work and sweeping/submitting them.
Yup. Work your weaknesses, breath, tap early and ASK questions.Good looking, this breakdown gives me a paradigm shift on this whole thing. Bottom line, I just have to work through being on my back out of breath. However, the little time I trained, I learned a lot about my body and muscles and nerves that I didn't know existed. Spiritually I made me appreciate my body more.

He is great though. Testament to the fact you dont need to be in the gym throwing up 3 plates to defeat legends. All he did was jiujitsu,Jacare's a beast
can't win all the absolutes
Yup. Work your weaknesses, breath, tap early and ASK questions.
The thing about it is everyones been where you are so you can stop mid training if its getting bad and just ask that little nerd who you could destroy with hands, what you need to do and why hes able to do what hes doing to you. They will tell you what youre doing wrong. Take their advice and start working it.
Not everything has to be about sparring. Sometimes i dont wanna spar, i just ask someone, i need to work on side control escapes. Thats it. They get to work on control, and iget to work on escapes. Ill even say no submissions, just control and try to fatigue me. Take mount if its available. You dont have to spar for the honor of your ancestors everytime you train. You just need a gameplan. Like
Ok this MONTH, or week, etc, im going to work on escaping from side control. I will start free training on my back in side control and earn the top position. This is a great way to train. Good luck.
