If i havnt trained in a while and im still thinking i got it like THAT (not ready to be humbled) yea, i can experience claustrophobia. Especially with my coach. His knee on belly brutal and his mount feels like 1000 pounds. Combine that with heat and panic, yea, but thats what tapping out is for. If i havnt trained in a while, go hard and then end up in a bad position while im tired, yea it can feel like the walls are closing in against a good player.

Also, you have to just put yourself in situations where you know you arent comfortable and eventually you will overcome it. Ive only seen claustrophobia among new students and people who come back to train after a layoff. You just have to drill the position, let people put you in bad spots or just start in a bad spot and when you get comfortable with the escapes, you will get out. A dude like you thats big, people arent going to give you an inch to breath if they get you in a bad position, which is why learning escapes is the first thing any jiujitsu player should be doing. Going to train and just dominate and destroy people is going to work againt you because when the time comes you meet a better player, you wont have the heart to stay calm when you're under pressure and in a bad spot and tap our or allow yourself to be submitted to just end the ordeal.

You always post BJJ knowledge :wow:

I'm a skinny breh but training escapes constantly and consistently was one of the most terrifying and rewarding things ever.

It's crazy going from being put into situations that seemed impossible to escape from before the shyt felt like crushed in a hot vice to being able to stay calm enough to plan three steps ahead in that same hold. I swear, I apply that shyt to my stressful everyday life too. :blessed:
