I agree with the last sentence (obvious). But that kind of argument can be applied to almost every major decision in life. If someone asked you if you want to eventually have a kid you would probably say yes.
But if someone asked you to give all of your time, dedication, and energy into another human being, while taking care of it for 18+ years. Would you say yes to that?

The kids analogy is horrible...if for no other reason that damn near everyone wants to have kids if for no other reason than to continue their bloodline...
Getting married is a deal...a proposition...having kids is nature...is survival...you are predisposed to having children to continue on your family legacy...
The happiest couples I know...are couples that have kids and live together but are not married...
It's not just another human being...it's your kid...it came from you...it is a part of you...it is going to be your natural instinct to take care of it...one day it will grow up and carry on your name...you will get old and it will be the kids obligation to take care of you...such is the circle of the average life of the average person in the average family
