WWE.com interviewed Diva Lana regarding her engagement to Rusev, and during the interview Lana had the following to say:

“It’s very obvious Rusev proposed to me. If you watched Rusev and Summer, Rusev has always loved me. He was just so devastated about me picking Dolph that he went with Summer to make me jealous. But at the end of the day, we know we’re good for each other.

I am from the former Soviet Union; Rusev grew up in Bulgaria, and one common thread they teach you there is to survive. The winters get very cold and they get very dark. We do what we need to do to survive. This is what is happening. We will be leaving the greatest legacy this company and the WWE Universe has ever seen.

Ziggler is very funny and he’s charming, but he is not The Super Athlete. With me, Rusev was the undefeated Super Athlete. He listened to what I said, he was very focused. We made each other better. He challenged me and I challenged him. Summer has made him so soft that he hasn’t won. You tell me, who is the better pick?”

They need to just stop throw the stupid storyline in the bushes now they going to tried and blur the line between kayfabe and real life now to tried and save a storyline no one gave a flying f@uk about anyway

The segment they ended up doing was horrible and made ZERO sense.

Summer comes out with Rusev, smiling and happy, cheering for him during the match.

Then afterwords, she calls him out, gets upset, and storms off? As Rusev just sorta stands there with a dumb look on his face? They couldn't handle this in ANY other way? They didn't even get a backstage segment or anything. During the show, they kept talking about how they were "going to address this situation later", and THAT'S what we got? Imagine a casual fan who saw the story on TMZ, maybe he hasn't watched Raw in awhile but thinks this is an interesting story....sheeeeiiiiiiiiit...won't be tuning in next week

It felt like they threw it together 15 minutes before they did it (And honestly, they might have).

The crazy thing about it is the rumors are that he's against it because it breaks kayfabe...meanwhile he's got his heel authority figures out in the public doing face shyt and being lead dogs in the philanthropic work the company does and even has heels rocking breast cancer shirts. And as a guy who's loss someone to breast cancer, I applaud them for everything they do but as someone who appreciates wrestling and character, your heels shouldn't be doing or saying anything remotely idealistic or that can be seen as good. But this man getting married is an issue
