-I just read the last 2 pages and wanted to congratulate those that have gotten out of debt or are on their way.

-I owe 40-50K on a 10 year old Student Loan but it's a long post so I just started a new thread.

Settle the medical bills if you can. If you’re paying them, tell them you won’t be able to soon and you’re looking to file bankruptcy or just make up a lie. If you haven’t been paying, even better. They will settle them.

Student loans are harder. If your interest rate is high or you have multiple, you can try to refinance and consolidate. I know Navy Federal and other credit unions allow that. You could also get a personal loan or transfer using a cash advance, higher interest but this makes the debt bankruptable.

He can also try student loan refinance companies like earnest, lendkey, laurel road and commonbond. Often time you can get much lower interest rates than anywhere else. Plus they offer forbearance if you go back to school or are in financial trouble.

Brehs I'm bout to pay off my car and not have any debt except for my mortgage....the sweet thing is that I dont even pay my mortgage. My tenant does. I live in a duplex.

used my bonus and planning on using tax refund to pay down my cc debt...so far been responsible for the most part...got a trip to Vegas in March i hope doesn't set me back

Working on getting myself Debt Free. I got $1200 left on this personal loan that will be paid in full by April, which will save me $250/mo going forward. Then I’m going to aggressively attack these student loans for which I have $7500 left to pay.

then it’s the big task of clearing these CC’s , that’s going to be a battle.

$482 dollars left on the personal loan. Only two more payments left on it

Going to pay off one of my student loan balances next month which will bring it down to $6500

I got $1800 back on my tax refund, I used $900 for a trip to NY next month and plan on using the other $900 for my bday Trip in Vegas in May, I’m not spending anything beyond that. Lord help me

Car debt is the most unnecessary debt ever. Nowadays cars are designed so well, that Getting a lemon is rare. haven't had to take a car to shop for anything other than a funny noise in a decade. Can't remember the last time me or anyone i know has been broken down on the side of the road for anything other than a flat.
