Ludacris has always been a bit of a novelty act...when he got serious with Runaway Love he lost me. I think he may be one of the most storied mainstream rappers of the past decade to NEVER make it into a Top 10 or 15 discussion.

luda never really had any subject matter. and when he tried to switch up and tell a story, that shyt came out horrible. but he's been

I remember this shyt. how he rapped on that track, I'll never know.Luda has always been a "singles" artists or a "feature" artist. Never took him or his album seriously and never really cared for them besides certain tracks like the joint with nas/hov, and certain album cuts like 'you's a hoe'.
Dude tried to make a "serious song" with Mary, and it was horrible.. I just could never take him seriously, and just stuck with listening to him rip peoples verses on remixes, features or certain singles of his (before the hair cut).

Luda as that dude and while some dudes couldn't make a hit, that came easy to him. His problem was being able to carry a whole album by himself. He had a few good ones but he doesn't have that one masterpiece that someone of his caliber should have.
