A good guy friend of mine who is a professor went through a similar issue. His ex-wife came from money and his sister married a professional baseball player. She literally looked at him and told him that he was the wrong type of doctor.
Within a month he filed for divorce. Call me crazy but I don’t think the person in ur corner should try and tear you down.
