  • The constant ageist comments you're on the end of
  • The thought of your family ditching you in a nursery home
  • dikk/p*ssy no longer works like it used to
  • No dreams and aspirations of your youth to fuel you
  • Realization your life was ultimately pointless with a life-full of regrets
  • Potentially being co-dependent on others for the most basic of tasks
  • Constant medical/physical problems
  • Losing your looks to become a wrinkly shell of your former self
  • Having to witness your close friends/family drop like flies
  • Potentially having to bury your lifelong partner
  • Knowing death is just around the corner & you're probably going to die alone
What an awful way to end life after spending the vast majority of it slaving away to make ends meet.

I'd rather go out with a bang in my mid 50s than get to those stages. :mjcry:

OP is technically right but it's dumb to dwell on shyt like this for too long, get out there and have a good time while you can and be smart about it :manny:

also remember to take care of yourself, prioritize your health and you can make the aging process more graceful

OP..

Seems like most people strive to grow old. If getting old is so bad, then why are people stressing staying healthy?

If you get to live well into your golden years, then consider that to be a blessing. It doesn't even matter if you may end up in a nursing home, at least you were able to live your life on your terms up to that point.

You have many people who will not make it anywhere near their golden years, so keep that in mind.

Lastly, age is what you make of it. If you put too many restraints upon yourself, then I could see why you may have a pessimistic outlook on getting old. But, what if your outlook on life was optimistic? Just imaging what type of life you would live?

Keep living and cherish what you have. When it is time for you to transition, then hopefully you will be at peace with yourself as well as your accomplishments...
