Fukk the naysayers on here. Most jobs worth anything will have you working with mostly white folks. Ghostface voice, "you like to eat, right?" Wish you well on that interview and hope you get the job.

Everytime in the past I applied at a 90%+ white company as the only black guy there I never got the job.

All the times in the past I applied at a company with some diversity I got the job 9 times out of 10.

One of the reasons I was happy to move out or Pittsburgh to NYC. I've had more professional success as a black man here in New York in 5 years of living there than I had in 26 years or living in Pittsburgh.

Ask questions that show you are aware of the position and what it has to offer?
Ask questions about the culture and expectations.
Get a good nights rest.
Eat breakfast.
Iron your clothes.
Don't wear cologne.
Get there early because that's on time.
Take notes.
Smile.
Be engaging.

SELL YOURSELF.

remember the names/numbers/email of the people you meet. Send a thank you and follow up if you haven't heard back during the frame they give.

I'm almost always one of the few blacks in my roles. Nothing I can do about it really considering the type of positions I go for.

Unfortunately most well paying jobs are filled with cacs , so you either get used to working around them or get comfortable to low wages .

There's also the Dr.X option ; start a business .

Also, go ahead and look up the person interviewing you on LinkedIn, google etc. It's good to know about the type of persons who will interview you. It shows some initiative and it will help you control the conversation flow better.

Because trust that they're doing the same to you.

Also, be familiar with the information you've placed on your resune/application. Nothing js worse that umming your way through your own work history.
