What winning tradition does Texas have over Florida? :mjlol:

I swear y'all nikkas just be saying shyt.
Texas has been a winning powerhouse for a much longer time than Florida. This is not debatable. Florida has been the more consistent winning program since 1990 though. But Texas has the 3rd most wins in college football history.

Florida wasn't anything until the 1990s , first title ever in 1996. perfect example of a nikka running his mouth, not knowing what he's talking bout right here.

FSU and little Miami reaching the top of CFB before established UF who been in game way way way longer with way more of that old money has to hurt them old UF heads. Miami had already won 4 titles before UF even played in an NC game. FSU didn't begin playing CFB until 1947 and still beat UF to punch as far as winning an NC.

- proximity to elite talent
- huge fanbase
- lots of boosters
- winning tradition
- big stadium
- top tier resources (although these days, TV contracts means everyone is building nice facilities)
- "visibility / brand"

its a cadillac institution

1. And? That just makes it harder to win
2. Wrong
3. Texas has the longhorn network :what:
4. What In The Hell Does This Even Mean? :why:

I'm reading through this thread, and you guys are bugging. I'll tell you flat out that Texas is a better job. Better facilities, endless money, easier recruiting and more exposure. Florida's opening game was on the SEC Network, brehs. UT has their own god damn channel and all of their games are nationally televised on top of it. No one is fukking with UT money. The pressure to succeed at UT is far higher than it is at UF though.

I agree that Charlie should've waited for the Florida job because he would've been option #1 & had it made, but he'd be a fool to turn down the UT cash cow. I hope they give him at least 5 years to turn it around at UT.

There really isn't a comparison historically between Texas and florida

What has Texas done outside of those 2 Vince Young years since any of us has been alive?

Those Colt Mccoy years were "ok".

The Texas job is being overrated by y'all because of a bunch of superficial reasons.

Saban, Carroll and Meyers highs were all better and more memorable than Texas highs.

Bama and Florida won ships in the 90s.

What has Texas done since we've been alive OUTSIDE of the Vince Young Season.

You should be conflicted.

Y'all have a black coach (for now)

Why would i be conflicted? :dahell:

If you're a black man and you don't marry a black woman then why am I supposed to ride extra hard for you?

I hope he succeeds, but he chose a non-black wife so he's not gonna get the blind black allegiance that I'm showing to Shake Smart. :smugfavre:

Agreed!!

That Texas job is being Overrated as hell. I always thought " WHY IN THE HELL WOULD SABAN LEAVE BAMA FOR TEXAS?"

Bama has just as much if not MORE history, Boosters with deep pockets, and great recruiting grounds.

Texas is an Elite program but it's not head and shoulders over OTHER ELITE programs.

They been getting outdone by A&M, Baylor, and TCU as of late

If you call a national championship gap between 1970 and 2005 a winning tradition. :mjlol:

Winning tradition are Oklahoma, Alabama, Ohio State, Notre Dame and USC.

From 1975-1995, Texas didn't start getting the top recruiting classes until Mack Brown became the head coach.

Oklahoma was getting all the top Texas recruits in the 70's

Oklahoma, Houston, and SMU was getting all the top Texas recruits in the 80's

Texas A&M was getting all the top Texas recruits in the early 90;s

:mjlol: @ people thinking Texas was some kinda of recruiting juggernaut pre-Mack Brown era.
