they had perhaps the easiest group last WC and the implosion of france only made things easier. Forlan was in prolific form fresh off a Europa league medal and Copa del Rey birth carry Atletico. Suarez is Suarez. Forlan was the whole squad. I dont think anybody was really surprised.

I wouldn't say that group was easy neither am I saying it was hard but forget about the group because Italy won the World Cup tying all of its 3 group stage matches.
