If you really think about it, Ghenghis Khan is one of the reasons why Europeans got access to gunpowder technology, papermaking, and printing. Those technologies are one of the main reason why Cacs were able to come out on top via gunboat diplomacy. Once the mongol empire was established, the Khan's allowed traders to freely move around the empire that encompassed the middle east, Eastern Europe, Central Asia, and East Asia. The technology eventually made it's way to merchants from the Italian city states (Venice, Florence etc.). This is one of the main reasons why the renaissance started in Italy. Before Ghenghis Khan the Muslims were blocking Europeans from getting access to Asian markets (hence the constant fighting between the Holy Roman empire and the Muslims).
Shyt is wild when you really think about it. Ghenghis Khan also prevented an Arab led world because up until the mongo invasion, Baghdad was the center of math and science at the time. The mongols ended up sacking Baghdad.
I'm not really the most educated on this topic, but I want to know what HL thinks. Let's discuss.
Edit: Ghenghis Khan also led to Cacs getting access to compass technology from China
