I don't know either.
The people involved in these tours actively look down on the folks living there. There's no appreciation of culture or a willingness to understand the problems that create these ghettos or the solutions. Just a pure sideshow attraction. Gentrification is just moving too fast for me here to even come up with any sort of alternative or solution this problem. It's too far gone.

I live in NYC, these hipsters transplants are not openly racist.
