I can understand why. It bothered me when I found out Gza wrote his debut.
But there's important reasons why he's important.
His whole image was an art piece and an expression of an era. New York, the music his parents were into, his stage presence, his passion.
It STILL fukks me up that he's dead. Worst death in hip hop to me. I miss him. I recently re-bought his debut on CD.
That long intro, hearing it as an adult it crazy dope. A true showman.

Return to The 36 Chambers is some of RZA's grittiest, most gutter production. It's easily better than Tical and and is close to the level of Ironman, it feels a little more cohesive to me than Ironman despite being so scattered.
IMO it's probably the most underrated album of the 90s

Snakes is...I don't know how they made that track. Beat, sample. Perfection. Normally I don't like vocals in samples. Unless it's old soul. And it's done perfectly.
