crazy the amount of hustle you had to do as a new artist back then, after gassing up the bus they probably just had food money

i dont think they ever leave Houston out these days, always see the city on the list when they go on tour

Was thinking the same. Quik up in Denver, Large Pro/Nas/Jay with the tec-9, Jim Jones in Pittsburgh, etc.. LL had trouble in LA right? I cant remember that story entirely. Prodigy's book had a situation about Mobb and company seeking safety in a van if I remember correctly.

And those are the ones we know about. I know every town worldwide has people who are looking to get some quick Internet fame.

There's THOUSANDS of stories of rappers getting ran out of towns. The TOUGHEST rappers you think, got ran out of towns/cities. Especially 90s rappers, especially in the South

Don't forget when Def Jam had that big concert headlined by Run DMC in 1986 in California and that was the first time they realized how big that Crip/Blood shyt was, that caused a huge riot.

of course even the toughest most gangsta rappers can get run out of somewhere that's not their own town. you have to be smart & think well there's 10 of us and say 200 people come to see us. so you're pretty outnumbered if something goes down. at least RZA hit ol dude with the bottle unlike the video you see of todays rappers who just get angry & act hard like "who threw that i'm gonna come out there next time" then they do it again & they cry & walk off stage

The famous story when the crowd chased young Nas and Jay Z out of the club when they were on tour with Large Professor... Jay pulled the Tek to back up the crowd...

Then he heard Nas' line about the Tek on the dresser

It sounds crazier because they had to split it. 100 dollars in 1992 is worth 164.87 today and minimum wage was 4.25. For an hour set that wouldn't have been that bad if they didn't have ten people in the group. On top of that ya'll are acting like they performed in a nice venue in front of hundreds of people. It was probably some shytty club where they were probably performing for 40 people.
