I really do appreciate the effort of live instrumentation hip hop. When done well it makes the track organic and original. My favorite songs from my favorite producers all tend to have elements of this, like DJ Uneek and Mannie Fresh. But this requires cats that are
good that can pull off dope licks under the helm of a top producer, and clearly Adrien Young and the band were not up to the task. Far from displaying any kind of virtuosity, the melodies and compositions are cringe-inducingly simple and album sounds like made by your average garage band. They did stay true to RZA style beats from way back, but if this project passes as good then the music you've listened to must be very limited. In addition, Ghost's mailed in uninspired offbeat travesty of a performance is sad to see from a rapper who is firmly placed in my all time top 5.
Telling a coherent crime story is nice and all, but what the fukk is it good for if the music ain't bumpin! When I listen to some music I'm supposed to pay attention to a story? Yall got the artforms mixed up breh, but I guess people enjoy different things. Then again give it a couple weeks and I doubt anyones gonna still be listening to this.
Is it seeing supreme clientele
