I don't know why people think he's shytting on his teammates. He's tactfully saying forming up with two or three other superstars is a cheap way of winning a title. That's why he signed the max deal to stay. He believed that they could win with the core they had (with some roster tweaks of course).

Outside of the prime caveat (Celtics) this is probably the most objective definition I've seen.
Heck, Celtics still fit. Pierce, Garnett, and Allen were all no older than 30/31 I believe - so they were still in the later portion of their prime. That's why they were a 66 win team in 09, made the finals again in 2010, and were up 3-2 against the Heat in 2012. They were not washed yet, they were all still playing at a high level.
The 2020 Lakers is a unique case though. Lebron and AD were top 5-6 ish players that season. Getting Chris Paul could still count, as although he is not in his prime, he is still a guy that can lead his team to the playoffs as a number 1 option and go far.
