Honestly I feel like the reason they keep coming up with different gimmicks for the dunk contest is because of how people complain so much. They probably feel like they have to try to do something different to recreate interest. Not much different from when they had the dunk wheel in the early 2000's.

I enjoy the 3 point shootout the most these days.

3 point contest has always been the best contest to me..and its stood the test of time

People need to start dunking on ppl in the dunk contest. Use that 7 foot bench warming center on your roster as a prop. Have him stand in the lane and choreograph catching a lob and windmilling on his head for an and-1. If they could make it look semi-legit, it would get a great reaction and look sick.
