Nah, they need a shot creator than can score on all 3 levels like a Lillard, Steph, Trae, Irving.

As long as Giannis is missing that and playing as a driving and kicking play initiator and having to iso 20 feet away from the basket they won’t win.

:mjlol: don’t make it deeper than what it is he took an unprecedented amount of money and if they don’t win in the next 2-3 seasons he will request a trade.

The Bucks also didn’t upgrade their roster they have peaked and are stagnant.

That's pretty lofty wouldn't you say breh? Jrue is capable of that, obviously not to the same degree. It's starts with him. He needs to dominate on both ends. He's got enough around him to make the Finals if he does that.

Idk why nikkas are acting like Giannis can't win a ring in Milwaukee. It's not like he's 26, and quite literally a jumper/post game away. His team's playoff losses have been mainly on him these past two years, so if he gets better...

It's what a player of Giannis archetype needs. :hubie:

Jrue isn't capable of that he's not a good enough shooter and he doesn't have that elite level burst, he's not a very good crunch time performer has been turnover prone and bricky and indecisive in the past.

He's a swole 7 feet 245 lb., he's been working on that jumper his entire career, that jumper isn't coming.

Get him a damn shot creator and have him play a more natural PF role...

I think it means more for the long term health of The League that a marquee player in his prime isn't (yet at least) interested in playing for anyone other than the team that drafted him. I was listening to Simmons the other day and I agree with a point he made that NBA fan culture in general has drifted towards rooting for players over teams and how that presents a huge disadvantage to the noncoastal teams, as the best players typically play in the biggest cities and on the coasts...

So from that standpoint I think this is great for the NBA...

This is my sentiment too. Subject to change if he shows he has an extra gear in the postseason, but as of now I can't imagine him winning a title in Milwaukee...

I think I was listening to the same pod and Simmons is full of shyt. He worships the Golden Era of the league where everything went through LA and his precious BOS. He was right there with the rest of the media pushing Bron to NY before he broke a sweat in the league. We getting that pod if Harden or better yet Giannis is forcing their way to BOS? I don't recall hearing this when KG and Ray went to BOS from Minny and Seattle.

The Giannis situation is a little different than most, in that Milwaukee has done it's thing. But the premise itself is bullshyt in that it puts the onus on the player to just be blindly loyal rather than pushing these orgs to do better. You get 7 years with a guy. If you don't do right by him in that time, that's not about the health of the league or his loyalty...you just suck. I'm tired of these small markets being given the cover of "the big bad selfish players don't wanna play here" instead of holding them accountable. The very stuff that people swear is bad for the league is the very stuff it was built upon/had it's biggest boom periods with. Didn't Simmons say something about competitive balance on that pod too :mjlol:.

So in your mind Giannis can't win with anything less than the gold standard of PG?

It doesn’t have to be a PG and it doesn’t have to be just those guys he could do well with Kemba or the two-headed monster of VanVleet and Lowry. Like I said though doesn’t have to be a PG, what he needs is a consistent, high level shot creator.

Haha yeah thats the same pod, he was bytching about competitive balance...

I definitely don't feel sorry for teams that don't build contenders with players, I'm with you on that. I dont have an issue with stars choosing their destination but its also cool to see a big name choose to stay somewhere like Milwaukee...
