Confused at the responses in here...what "splash" hire were you expecting? Another retread y'all supposedly hate?

Anyway the problems with this team had way more to do with the roster than coaching. Reese better kill it this draft
I wanted some defensive changes...

Or atleast an explanation..the shyt we've had on the field this season has been :trash: record breaking :trash:

Needs to be addressed :mjpls:

I didn't know John Mara runs the Giants like that though.

Pretty much runs it the way the Cowboys are run ... 100% in the family. Very few "football" people

I can't even properly assess how Spag did last year because he literally had nothing to work with. Trying to make that defense look respectable was impossible

I hope I'm wrong but I'm not really feeling this move. But then again, I didn't really like any of the remaining coaching candidates and thought it was Tom's time to go as well. I sometimes think the offensive improvements the past two seasons were more due to Beckham's unbelievable talent and less to do with Mcadoo's coaching.

I don't think I've ever heard this guy talk at all, that'll be interesting at least.

Hiring someone else would've set us back we can't have Eli trying to learn a brand new offense again, we kept Spags promoted Mcadoo now we need Reese to make smart draft choices and fulfill the rest of our needs in free agency

A two time super bowl champ with the last name manning isn't smart enough to learn a new offense :mjpls:

Alright. This isn't entirely bad, Eli doesn't have to learn a new offense. Which is great.

Now we'll just wait and see. Need that defense fixed though.

You talk about Eli like he's 3rd year guy

i assume he'll be called CacAdoo after bad losses

I fukking hate when people use the word "cac" in here but that shyt caught me off guard and made me laugh :mjlol:

But anyway, most Giants fans knew this was the deal. The problem with bringing in a new HC is that you'll need a new coaching staff and we didn't want to do that. McAdoo had a solid performance as the OC and got Eli playing his best season ever in his career and in most games put us in winning positions.

The problem was the defensive players. Mara, Reece and TC both knew this. The blame can only go on injuries and the people Reece drafted. As already noted in here Beasln, JPP were missing for most of the season, we had a rookie SS, and no recognised FS/WS. Somethings we did well, I think takeaways we were in the top 10 of the league. But the pass rush and middle of the field play needs to improve. Unga who was our MLB whilst Beason was out was OK. But he is a rookie at age 27/28 and just wasn't good enough. He was defensively naive too, especially when going against the pass. A few Giants game I generally wondered if we even had any line backers playing at one point.

But anyway. I'm happy this has been sorted. If he can get the OC role wrapped up quickly and get things solidified that will be great. He needs a back room too, but I know they will be sorted with the off season

Let's go Giants.

He's not a third year guy but he's not a young buck either and is coming off statistically speaking, the best year of his career. And will only go up from here with a continuing offense and better weapons.
can this guy handle calling plays and being the head coach, his job just got 100 times harder

we'll see, most guys cant

Can we at least ask these white coordinators to have more than one good statistical year before crowing them 'too important to lose so let's make them head coach' material?

I mean, seriously...
