Great post, it's just tough for a lot of people to do this. But this is how it should be imo.

By the way, how come family feel entitled to shyt in the first place? To be honest if one of my family is rich I wouldn't even ask for shyt; if I get something I'd be grateful. In general though, I think I want peace and quiet over money.

A lot of humans can't see farther than their wants and needs so if you're a means for them to accomplish their wants and needs then they will try to use you.

I’m no where near Floyd bank account or or other athletes

but one thing for sure… track where your money going , especially if u have a financial advisor and it’s mandatory for you to be notified of a certain amount of money is been used for anything

And cut your circle..because those yes men and bytches will not be around if you had 10 dollars to your name

No prominent player went broke just because they spent $1M on their parents house. They go broke supporting 20+ family/friends, tricking off money on women, and making horrible investments. If you make $50M+ in the NBA, you can still save 75% of your net income and purchase your parents a $1M house.

Yes. All I'm advocating is to make everyone self-sufficient so that you don't end up in that situation at all. You are literally advocating for the things Gilbert Arenas says gets people in trouble in the first place. You shouldn't be putting people in situations they can't self-manage because their bills end up being yours. But in the end its all hypothetical...you can do whatever you want...if you can ever buy your parents a nice house then props to you.

I'd rather buy my mom a multi-family or a house with a duplex in the back on the same lot so I can slide through and drop a couple stacks to send her on vacation instead of having to worry about light bills, repairs, cell phone bills, and other crap.

Floyd's career earnings were $1.1B. Let's say taxes, agents and promoters took half leaving $550M left. Based on his lifestyle, I'm willing to bet Floyd has spent most of that over the last 20+ years.

Naw. Floyd brags about signing his own checks and keeping it all cash in the bank accounts so he knows exactly what goes in and what goes out. He went broke early in his career and learned his lesson. He definitely got 100's of millions in his account still.

If I was a multimillionaire for any reason, I'd break bread, but there would be a couple of stipulations.

My mom and sis would get a crib...but it ain't gonna be a multimillion dollar mansion. Homies would get broken off, but if they don't don't have a business plan or a skill that I can use, I'm not doing anything but paying an occasional bill or the like.

No one would ever know how much money I have, not even my wife. I would never spend more than 25% of my cash flow; not my bank, but my cash flow. If I got paid a couple hundred grand a month or even a year, shyt let's say 100k a month...I could still get a crib anywhere from 5-10k per month and be living pretty in every city in the country. I could lease 1-2 exotic cars and still come in under 4k a month. Give myself a 10k a month allowance and and still be under 25K a month in expenditures and my lifestyle would shyt on 99.8% of people walking around.

How these guys go broke is thinking all of the money they have needs to get spent. I had that problem for years and I make 1/100th of these guys. Basically I had to just pay myself an allowance and make it difficult for me to touch my other money. Once you see that bank account grow, you get more satisfaction in watching that account grow than buying a table in the club, or putting rims on your car, or even going out with random chicks everyday of the week.

Gilbert Arenas cited buying parents a $4M house AND $200-300K in monthly bills. I'm advocating for buying parents a $1M house, which would contribute $5-6K toward monthly bills. That's a big gap and parents are the ONLY relatives I'm saying I would consistently support beyond 2-3 years.

If he had 100s of millions in the bank he would've shown it off by now.

If a player decides he wants to buy his parents a house, for 3 to 4 million. - First fukk up.

Furnish the house. - Second fukk up.

People need to address the idea of no handouts. I love my parents but I would not buy them a house for 4 million unless that 4 million was a pinprick in my income.

That house has an extra zero. I’d get them a house that cost $400,000. That’s it.
