I hate ignorant nikkas like this. This anti college narrative is setting young black boys and men up for long term failure and financial pain. The economy continues to shift to a knowledge based economy and you will need some type of degree to compete.

Now we can have debates on where an how much you should spend on college but to say it’s not worth it is just blatant ignorance. Again there’s no shame in going to your local CUNY college but you need to do something
I think a CUNY school recently got awarded for the most socially mobile degrees in the country because they're so cheap to attend. Gillie is a dumbass.

Going just for the sake of going is most definitely overrated. It's not for everybody and you got plenty of folk going into debt or wasting their parent's money for no reason. Plenty of jobs that pay well that don't require a degree as well. Also, we can't mistake college for the only post HS option. Skilled trades people stay eating. Now if you have a clear plan and a degree is a necessary part of that plan then it's still the way to go but it's by no means the magical savior for anyone that goes.
