Most major cities nikkas be real sensitive about nikkas claiming the city that’s not technically from there. Yes, it can be a little silly but that’s how it is. The city rougher, so it’s a badge of honor and nikkas will make it a point to clarify what’s considered the city lol. This is regular shyt, and I don’t think he was trying to hate on Kobe. Some cities take this more serious than others buts it’s a thing for all major cities. For example, I think the rules a little more lax in Atlanta cause Atlanta proper is actually small as hell. But you will still hear people all the time being like, that’s not the real Atlanta and shyt like that when talking about places technically outside the city

I don't see it as hating at all. Can't really speak on City shyt when you ain't from that city. I never even heard Kobe himself claim Philly. I'm not from there so I can't call it, but nikkas in and around that area know what it is. I always think of how Rip would always correct anybody that said he was from Philly quickly with "Coatesville". Everything ain't gotta be perceived as negative

Yea it’s right there. Only ten miles basically. And Kobe’s dad was rich, he could’ve easily brought a house in a nice neighborhood in Philly like Chestnut Hill. Then what would Gillie say…he’d probably say he’s not from the hood part of Philly though
