I'm sure people make going to it bigger than it is, but it's an industry event thrown by people in the industry for others in the industry.
The Grammys, Super Bowl, Oscars, all these major events have huge parties/gatherings thrown by record labels, studios, companies and other big figures, but this one gets a ton of flack.

Gillie's always been a dummy so he clearly doesn't get that. People get mad when they're not invited.
But a lot of people go to get face-time with other people to network. Freeway went and was able to secure funding for programs he was trying to do in Philly, for endangered youth. Nas went and met executives from Lyft and was able to invest in the company and do business with them. He met with the people from Ring there too. And then invested in that company. He has a firm called QueensBridge Venture Partners. He's been able to go to the brunch and meet other CEO's to do business with. That's what it's for.

Him and Jay will probably never see eye to eye. Jay picked State Property over Major Figgas when they had real beef. I don’t think it’s a bitterness but I get it.
Even if it wasn't a networking event and people just had a brunch, so what? Nobody complains about people going to the MET Gala. Just let folks kick it without saucing up some bullshyt.
