In a redraft he would be the 5th best guard maybe even better who knows because when he tore his Achilles he was coming along good averaging 17.1 PPG | 6.6 APG | 2.5 RPG on 29 mins. That same year jrue averaged 14.8 PPG | 6.9 APG | 3.4 RPG on 32 mins a game and Jeff Teague averaged 15.9 PPG | 7.0 APG | 2.5 RPG on 30 mins. So it’s not wild for him in his mind to believe what he believes.
That injury was 6 years into his career, he wasn’t better than any of those guys even if you stopped it there

Theres nothing to suggest BJ would’ve gotten better than we had already seen him do. The injury is an excuse for him use as to why he hadn’t gotten better. He was a veteran by the time that happened. If you’re that level of talented like he tries to fancy himself, you already avg much better by year 7. Especially when you’ve been given the green light to chuck unlike people he coming at.
He’s not top 5 tho and injury wouldn’t have changed that. We saw enough of him by then. He had already peaked. Best he could do is sustain it and that ain’t making him top 5.
